Keeping your vintage Star Wars figures safe and looking good
Over the years I have found a really cool way to store loose vintage Star Wars figures. I tried little plastic bags, tackle boxes, etc, and they just didn't cut it. Then I discovered what I call the plastic coffin (sounds morbid but it's cool). I found these at Brianstoys.com, but I'm sure you can find them at any other collector retail site or store. They fit perfectly save for 4 figures- Amanaman, Gammorean Guard, Fx-7 and Power Droid. Other than that the rest are all good including their weopon. These little coffns are pretty much air tight and do a great job protecting them from being damaged. Once I put the figure inside however, I couldn't help but wonder if there was some way for me to dress it up a little. After some web surfing, I found the absolute coolest insert to place inside the coffin. If you visit Starconstrux.com, and check out their download page, you'll notice inserts made exactly for these little boxes that feature the vintage cardback picture. Wow are these cool! They even have any known variations of the figures listed as well as the names. All you have to do is download them, trim a bit, fold them in half and tape them into the little box. Presto! you now have a mini vintage style storage box that looks fantastic and it really keeps your figures protected. Warning! Once you try one, you won't be able to stop until they are all done . They're that cool. But don't take my word for it just check out the pics below.
